L’ex membro dei Bad Boys dei Detroit Pistons, bicampione NBA e con un passato anche in Italia con la maglia di Brescia, è apparso nell’ultima puntata del “The Dan Patrick Show” e si è espresso su uno dei topic più frequenti tra gli appassionati di NBA, ovvero su chi sia il migliore tra LeBron James e Michael Jordan.
Interrogato su chi fosse meglio tra LeBron e MJ all’apice della rispettiva carriera, l’attuale coach delle New York Liberty della WNBA ha risposto così:
There’s no question I would take LeBron James. He can do more. Michael Jordan could score and make big shots and look spectacular at times with wild flying dunks, but LeBron can get you 18 rebounds, get you 15 assists or score 50 if he wants to. The triple threat the he poses is just phenomenal, and the size, he just physically dominates. It’s impressive.
Look at what LeBron has in the Finals right now, could anybody else in the world have led this team of role players to the finals right now? I don’t think so. Jordan could not have led this team to the Finals.
LeBron came into the league knowing how to play basketball and involve his teammates. Jordan had to learn that, and they had to assemble some great teammates around him in order for him to win.

Può fare molto di più: Jordan poteva segnare tanto, mandare a bersaglio tiri importanti e a volte essere spettacolare con delle schiacciate assurde ma LeBron può portarti in dote 18 rimbalzi, 15 assists o metterne 50 se ne ha voglia. La tripla minaccia che mette in campo è fenomenale, e la sua taglia, fisicamente semplicemente domina. E’ impressionante.
Guardate a ciò che Lebron ha ora nelle Finals, esiste un solo giocatore al mondo che sarebbe capace di portare questa squadra di gregari alle NBA Finals oggi come oggi? Non penso. Jordan non ne sarebbe stato capace.
LeBron è arrivato nella NBA sapendo già come giocare a basket e coinvolgere i compagni, Jordan tutto questo ha dovuto impararlo, ed ha avuto bisogno di grandi compagni di squadra attorno a lui che lo mettessero in condizione di vincere.
