La NBA ha deciso di combattere i riposi programmati dei giocatori (la pratica nota come load management).
Secondo Chris Haynes di Yahoo! Sports le franchigie non potranno tenere a riposo i giocatori di alto livello nelle gare trasmesse in diretta nazionale, pena una multa di almeno 100.000 dollari. Non si potranno, inoltre, lasciare fuori più atleti non infortunati nella stessa partita, specialmente nei match in trasferta. E quando i giocatori non andranno a referto, dovranno essere comunque “visibili” ai tifosi, quindi presenti al palasport.
