Gli Houston Rockets piangono la scomparsa dello scout Brett “BJ” Johnson, tragicamente scomparso in seguito a un incidente in bicicletta.
Johnson, 65 anni, lavorava per i Rockets fin dal 1994 ed era diventato una vera e propria istituzione all’interno della franchigia, oltre ad essere uno degli scout più conosciuti e apprezzati nel mondo della NBA. Dalle prime ricostruzioni dovrebbe essergli stato fatale un tombino, colpito con la ruota anteriore della bici e che l’avrebbe fatto capovolgere in avanti: una distrazione o la scarsa visibilità gli sono costate la vita, nonostante fosse un ciclista molto esperto.
Diversi giocatori e addetti ai lavori hanno espresso il loro cordoglio sui social, compreso Daryl Morey che da poche ore non è più il general manager del team.

I barely knew BJ Johnson but as I sit here late tonight and read about this wonderful man whose life was tragically cut short today, it is clearly my loss that I didn’t know him better. My heart hurts and my prayers go out to his family and close friends. God bless you B. J.
