In questi giorni la NBA ha annunciato che, dalla stagione che verrà, non sarà più consentito ai giocatori indossare le bandane “ninja”, un trend che si è diffuso lo scorso anno e che ha visto come principali esponenti di questo nuovo movimento atleti come Montrezl Harrell, Jimmy Butler, Jarrett Allen, Jure Holiday, Wesley Matthews e molti altri. Ufficialmente la decisione, presa in accordo con Nike, è stata motivata con richieste delle stesse franchigie relative alla sicurezza dei giocatori nell’indossarle al posto delle normali fascette.
Robin Lopez, che in estate si è trasferito ai Milwaukee Bucks di suo fratello Brook, ci ha scherzato su via Twitter: “Se la NBA vuole davvero farla finita con le bandane ninja, avrebbero dovuto chiedere a qualcuno come me di indossarle. Sarebbe stato come vedere Betty White dabbare o qualcosa del genere. Il trend sarebbe morto subito”. Betty White è un’attrice e personalità televisiva statunitense che il prossimo gennaio compirà ben 98 anni.
